An American, hardy cultivar bearing fragrant flowers. Attractive blooms appear twice a year – in spring and in summer. It is undemanding and easy to grow.

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE: White flowers with a yellow eye, fragrant, gathered in bulky racemes 10 cm long. Bloom most abundantly in May-June, in summer blooming reoccurs. Starts flowering in the 2nd-3rd year after planting. Pinnate leaves composed of 9-15 leaflets, bright green in summer and yellow in autumn.

HOW IT GROWS: A climber with shoots twining around supports. Strong-growing; reaches 5-6 m.

WHERE TO PLANT: Sunny location improves flowering.  Tolerates average, moderately moist, well-drained and slightly acidic soil. Requires solid supports. Hardy (zone 5-9).

HOW TO PLANT AND GROW: Before planting, immerse the potted plant in a water-filled container for 10-30 min. Place the plant in a 40 x 40 x 40 cm pit, with a 10-cm layer of well-rotten manure or compost soil at the bottom, 0.5-1 cm deeper than it was before. Cover the ground around the base with mulch, fertilize from April and water generously in the vegetation season. Horizontal training of the shoots as well as hard pruning stimulate flowering. In summer, the shoots should be pruned above the 4th leaf. In early spring the procedure may be repeated, this time above the 2nd-3rd bud.

HOW TO APPLY: The cultivar is especially recommended for planting by arbors, pergolas and wall constructions. It does not grow a freely as Asian wisterias, it is therefore excellent for smaller gardens. It may be shaped into a tree. As it is hardy, it can be grown in the whole area of Poland.
