A vigorous climber. Evergreen leaves composed of 5 leathery leaflets. Male flowers white with purple-pink stamens. Female flowers purple-pink with a deep chocolate pistil. Both flowers are fragrant. A good pollinator for other cultivars of the species. Blooms in May. Very interesting, unusual fruits resembling sausages with edible flesh. Stems twine round the supports.
Suitable for training up fences and various supports. It can be left to climb up the trees
Ideal for growing over arbours, pergolas or gates.
