A slow growing scandent shrub with rigid widely spreading stems leaning against a support. Flowers small greenish white, gathered in large panicles, in late summer followed by pale green, 3-winged fruits. Brown stems. It has low soil requirements and succeeds in every position. They are best planted where they can clamber into a tree or large bush, or a suitable garden support.
