An early-flowering variety. Beautiful, very large, semi-double, open, lavender-blue nodding flowers, borne during April and May. These are followed by decorative silky seed heads, which become fluffy and gray with age. A very hardy plant with low requirements, it will grow in semi-shaded positions Ideal for growing over low fences and walls or scrambling over rocks, old stumps, shrubs and conifers. It may also be used as ground cover.Raised by Dr F. L. Skinner, Canada. Named in 1967.
