One of the earliest and most profusely flowering varieties. Lovely, semi-double, pink-crimson flowers, produced from April to June. During summer and autumn they are followed by decorative silky, turning into fluffy and gray with age, seed heads. A very hardy plant with low requirements.
Ideal for growing over fences, walls, or scrambling over rocks and old stumps. Particularly useful for planting near small trees and coniferous or deciduous shrubs. It may also be used as ground gover.

Raised by E. Markham, United Kingdom.
Introduced in 1935.
