A low-growing, perennial groundcover, yielding edible, aromatic fruit of sweet-sour flavor and rich in vitamins.

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE: A low-growing, perennial groundcover. Light green leaves, composed of 3 leaflets 4-5 cm long, changing color in autumn. Numerous pink flowers of a subtle marzipane aroma appear in May on the shoots’ tips. Dark red, edible, aromatic fruit of sweet-sour flavor and rich in vitamins ripen in June-July. The average fruit weight is 1g. Fruits obtain their flavor only when they are wholly ripe; only dark red, shiny fruits should be harvested.

HOW IT GROWS: The plant reaches 20-25 cm height and spreads quickly using underground runners. It is easy to grow. It propagates by cross-pollination, and it is best to plant it in the vicinity of  another cultivar, e.g. ‘Beata’, ‘Marika’, ‘Mespi’.

WHERE TO PLANT: Requires a sunny or semi-shaded site.

HOW TO PLANT AND GROW: The plant is placed in a 30 x 30 x 30 cm hole, on top of a 10-cm layer of well-rotten manure or compost soil. Then, the pit is filled with fertile soil. Arctic blackberry thrives in a slightly acidic soil. It prefers humid but well-drained ground. Fully hardy (zone 2-7).

HOW TO APPLY: It may be employed as a fruit yielding plant or a groundcover in home gardens. Great for growing in hanging pots on the balcony, as it makes the fruit easy to pick. Valued for their health benefits, the berries can be eaten raw or frozen for later use. Used to prepare various preserves - juices, jams, jellies and liqueurs. Tea brewed with its fresh leaves gains an excellent aroma and taste.
