A tall shrub or small tree, with tasty dark purple fruit ripening in June.

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE: the fruits resemble blackberry in appearance, although they are in fact cylindrical inflorescences (3-3.5 cm long, 1.5 cm average) composed of a lot of small juicy achenes; they appear in June set on green petioles, several berries together. Initially white-yellow, then pink, finally dark purple when fully ripe, sweet, juicy, tasty. They ripen in June. Female and male flowers appear in May and have no decorative significance. Light green, smooth, shiny, dentate leaves, 8-10 cm long.

HOW IT GROWS: A tall shrub or small tree growing up to 4-5 m.

WHERE TO PLANT: It grows best in sunny and warm sites, on well-drained, slightly acidic or alkaline soil. Tolerates drought and air pollution. Sufficiently hardy (zone 6-9).

HOW TO PLANT AND GROW: Before planting, immerse the potted plant in a water-filled container for 10-30 min. Place the plant in a 60 x 60 x 60 cm pit, with a 10-cm layer of well-rotten manure at the bottom. Fill the pit with fertile compost soil.  Flatten the ground around the base of the plant and cover with bark mulch. Place the plant in the ground at the same depth as it was in the pot. Fertilize from April and water according to the needs during vegetation season. Regular pruning is not necessary. After a few years, when the plant thickens considerably, a thinning may be required.  Excessive pruning reduces the yield.

HOW TO APPLY: Suitable for planting as a single plant in home gardens, in sunny sites and sheltered from the wind. It can be formed into a small tree; the cultivar is very prolific. Its fruits have health promoting properties. They are rich in vitamins: B1, B2, B3, C, carotenoids as well as in macro- and microelements, e.g. iron, calcium and phosphorus. Infusion of leaves is used as an effective treatment for hypertension.
