A new Polish cultivar abundant in violet-purple bloom with a red bar along the middle. Flowers borne in spring are double and semi-double, in summer – single. Perfect for container cultivation for sunny spots.

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE: Medium-sized flowers, 11-13 cm across, consist of 6 sepals and up to 20 petals. Sepals are violet-purple with a red bar along the middle, and they turn violet as they fade. Stamens consist of purple anthers on greenish filaments. Semi-double flowers appear on previous-year shoots and single on new growth, from the very base of the plant. The main bloom occurs between mid-May and mid-July and some flowers appear in late summer, in August-September. Leaves are dark green, wavy with pointy tips.

HOW IT GROWS: The vine climbs by means of leaf petioles. Compact habit, reaching 120 cm height.

WHERE TO PLANT: The cultivar is best suited to sunny locations. Thrives in fertile, permeable soils, but will also grow in moderate soil if fertilized. The soil pH should range from neutral to slightly acidic. Hardy (zone 4-9).

HOW TO PLANT AND GROW: Place the plant in a pit (60 x 60 x 60 cm) with fertile soil and a 10 cm draining layer at the bottom, 5-10 cm deeper than it grew in the container (planting tutorial). It only requires light pruning. At the turn of February and March, it is enough to remove the dead shoots, and prune the live ones modestly: in the first year 30 cm from the ground, above the strong buds, in the second year - 70 cm, and in the following years at the height of 150 cm (pruning tutorial). In mid-April it should be supplemented with a slow-release fertilizer (e.g. Osmocote 5˗6M). Water during the season.

HOW TO APPLY: Suitable for growing by free-standing supports or those placed by the walls, as well as for growing in containers on terraces and balconies.
