On 14 January 2026, we had the honour of welcoming representatives of the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO) and the Research Centre for Cultivar Testing (COBORU) to our nursery.
The meeting was attended, among others, by:
- Francesco Mattina, President of the CPVO;
- Nuria Urquia Fernandez, Vice-President of the CPVO;
- Prof. Henryk Bujak, Director of COBORU;
- Marcin Behnke, M.Sc. Eng., Deputy Director of COBORU;
- Marcin Król, M.Sc. Eng., Head of the Department for Distinctness, Uniformity and Stability (DUS) Testing,
as well as the nursery’s co-owners:
- Szczepan Marczyński,
- Władysław Piotrowski,
- Paweł Marczyński,
- Andrzej Rafaląt,
- and Andrzej Gruszczyński.
During the visit, we presented our nursery, production process, and the breeding programme Szczepan Marczyński Clematis Varieties. A fruitful discussion was also held on the protection of plant breeder varieties’ rights in Poland and the European Union.
This visit represents a distinction for us and an important moment confirming the significance of our breeding work and cooperation with national and European institutions.
